Greetings!
Very muggy and hot night for the nacho! who knew you could bike and do a backstroke at the same time? However 80 people braved the swim to find a cold one and a pile of nachos waiting for them.
The Winner
There was a winner tonight, the NOA, a good clean win and I am sure he will put the money to good use buying me many gifts. Congrats!
Next Week
Next week is the Freedom ride, wear your colors and come join us in celebrating our independence. More information will be posted here.
Nacho in the News
The nacho ride was also picked as the #5 thing to do this summer by the Journal Star, just ahead of eating ice cream!

Greetings Nachoers, Cletus is on hiatus this week so it is up to me to give you an update of this week's nacho ride.
The Trail:
I was a little late getting to the trail Tuesday so the NOA left me in his dust with nachos in mind. This gave me a good chance to meet new riders and travel at a leisurely pace instead of the Mach 2 pace that NOA keeps. If you ever wonder where the random breeze comes from when biking, don't worry it is just the NOA passing you.
The trail is a little was a little washed out from all the rain we have been having but very solid. I did enjoy the splash of a couple mud puddles here and there and the creeks looked nice and full.
The Riders:
We had 79 riders and everyone seemed very happy to be out, the weather was awesome and we had a bunch of new riders. Veteran bikers, when you come across people not observing trail etiquette, remember to take a few moments to tell them how to make room for other riders passing. We want to make sure the ride is pleasing for everyone. Who knows, they may even buy you a beer out of gratitude!
The Nachos:
I saw some spectacular plates of food and I dare say the beer always tastes better at OEDS than it does other places. I don't know if it is the ride or if it is some special distributor DD uses but I will need to experiment some more to know for sure.
The Winner:
Once again I am sure Phil fixed the drawing against me and Kit Minks won the drawing. Don't forget to pick up your gift certificate from OEDS.
That is all for now, I hope to see everyone next week!

Sorry I didn’t get an Update from last week but a here is a short re-cap. The winner of the $25.00 Bike Shop gift certificate was Barb Bohaty. Hopefully she has already been notified to stop in a the OEDS and pick up her certificate. Sheriff August reported 91 people registered for the drawing. It was nice to see a line of people waiting to register. Also nice to see the beads of sweat on the foreheads of the staff, a good sign they were busy.
Here is the 10/11 Weather forecast for tonight, not looking the best but if you are one of the hardy souls that makes the trip great. Of course you can always crank up the motorized 4 wheel vehicle and still get some of those great Nacho's.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Variable cloudiness, breezy, warm and humid with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong to severe. Highs in the low 80s to low 90s. South winds at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts possible. TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Some storms could be strong to severe. Lows in the low to mid 60s. Northeast wind at 5 to 15 mph.
